The Ireland Esports Collegiate Series is the official national competition for 16 universities and colleges across the island.
Built on campus pride and competitive spirit, this is where players represent their institutions, develop real skills, and make their mark on the national stage.
With support from university departments, esports societies, alumni, and national partners, the series is designed to be more than just games — it’s a gateway to opportunity.
STORY BEHIND THE COLLEGIATE SERIES
Historically, collegiate esports in Ireland started with purpose back in 2017, the timeline for its evolution is as follows by academic year:
2017-2021 - Irish Collegiate Esports
2021-2022 - Legion Collegiate
2022-2023 - Nativz Collegiate
2023-present - Ireland Esports Collegiate Series
Since Nativz Gaming took the reigns back in September 2022, there has been a steady flow of improvements based on student feedback and innovation all with the purpose of achieving a sustainable business model.

Ireland Esports Leagues (IEL) is our independent platform that is building the competitive structure, telling the cultural story and growing the talent pipeline for Irish esports—from schools to society.
The Collegiate Series, sits alongside our Schools Series and Compay Series.
