Ireland Esports Collegiate Series: A New Era
Dublin, Ireland - The Nativz Collegiate Esports Series undertakes a transformative rebranding to become the "Ireland Esports Collegiate Series". This change signifies a timely shift to reflect the exclusive standing this series has as the sole Irish esports competition unifying the entire island of Ireland.
The Ireland Esports Collegiate Series, powered by Nativz, aims to nurture talent across the Irish esports landscape by creating a robust first step on an esports pathway for players, coaches, content creators and administrators. This initiative benefits from the invaluable expertise of Nativz Gaming, Dublin's Original Esports organisation, a trailblazer in fostering the growth of esports across Ireland.
"We are thrilled to announce the new Ireland Esports Collegiate Series. It's not just a name change; it's an evolution. This rebrand is in line with our mission and kicks off our 3 Year Ireland Collegiate Strategy for growth," said Kurt Pittman, Founder & CEO Nativz Gaming. "This is a pivotal step towards strengthening Ireland's position on the global student esports stage."
The rebranded series will embrace a new identity anchored around the Shamrock - an emblem synonymous with Ireland's sporting competitions. The iconic Shamrock symbolises unity, strength, and pride, aligning with the spirit of camaraderie and fierce competition within the esports community.
"We believe the new name and identity will enhance our ties with the student and education communities, ultimately increasing our appeal to potential commercial partners," continued Kurt Pittman. "The Shamrock is a powerful symbol recognised worldwide. It's consistent with other nationally focused sports competitions and will help extend our reach within and beyond Ireland."
The rebrand signifies the start of an exciting new chapter, with the promise to deliver world-class esports action for competitors and spectators alike. This can be seen from the success SETU Esports achieved having won the 2023 Collegiate Rocket League title before going on to represent Ireland at the 2023 World Rocket League Championships in Dallas, USA back in June this year.
About the Ireland Esports Collegiate Series
The 2023/24 Ireland Esports Collegiate Series is made up of 8 weeks of games and play-offs, followed by a final’s day in the Winter Semester. This is repeated again in the Spring Semester. Students could register to play in one or more of five titles in the 2022/23 Series.
Those titles for teams to register in were League of Legends, Valorant, CSGO and Rocket League plus individuals could register to compete in Formula 1.
During the series each University and College will generate points from their respective teams across the titles played. These points will determine the overall table. The top two institutions field a team in each title to compete in the Ireland Esports Collegiate Challenge, the culmination of the series that will determine who the top University or College is for the series.
The format for the upcoming 2023/24 Series will be announced in the coming weeks at the time when registrations open for the incoming year. Students looking to join can register their interest now at www.irelandcollegiate.com
